We had a wonderful day in a Houseboat with the lovely Peter as skipper. We headed to Elbow Point where we could head to the beach, swim, fish or enjoy a BBQ on the boat. Boats can take about 10 guests - cost $900 for 6 hours so good value per person. We’ve just had a wonderful family holiday aboard Golden Grove with our teenage sons. Our friendly hosts had thought of everything to make sure our trip was sensational! This area of Queensland was so beautiful to see- from the sun lounges on the top deck we’ve watched sea eagles, turtles, dolphins, dingoes and bush pigs! But the highlight has been rolling out of bed at dawn and casting our lines. What a set up… caught heaps! We stayed on the Golden Grove and honestly couldn’t fault a thing—it was super clean, comfy, and really well set up. The whole team was so lovely and helpful, which made the trip even better. The boat is fully equipped and everything was easy to find. Sam and Russell are incredible hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Even when we ran out of ice, young Nic came out to refill the esky. Skipper Pete came out every couple of days to move the boat for us, as none of us were prepared to take on the task of driving. Customer service 2nd to none. 👌 Honestly can't speak highly enough and thank Sam, Russell, Nick, Pete & the rest of the crew for looking after us so well. Our adventure was booked for 4 nights at the end of March which happened to be wet & windy, a bit wild, & more wet & windy...😂 Didn't deter us, though, only suffered a bit of cabin fever 🤣. The high standard of professionalism & customer service, checking up on us daily, bringing out dry linen & towels, as we had 8 of us on board, + fresh ice etc - we couldn't have asked for more. Heaps of crabs caught & some nice fish including flathead & cod. The grandkids first go on a Houseboat, had a ball, fishing & checking the pots + exploring the surrounds in the tender, when the sun eventually shone. We've been on these Houseboats before with the previous owners also, & loved it. Russell was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us a few good places to catch a feed. 😉😉 We're certainly looking forward to our next adventure with them, but maybe in winter lol...
